Using plain water would be less trouble. Any silver will remain behind in the bowl, so the effect would be the same, namely an increase in humidity.

If you use a Medisana or some large humidifier with colloidal silver, wouldn't it discolor furniture and carpets? I'm using the Omron nebulizer, ....I put the baby face mask over my mouth and nose and it's fine....but in 20 minutes or so it only uses about a teaspoonful of CS. It seems to help keep the cold from getting worse.
