They actually don't actually contain cyanide. They contain laetrile AKA Vitamin B17, which is a precursor to cyanide and converts to cyanide when exposed to enzymes produced by many cancers.

Keep in mind that apricot pits, as well as other similar pits and apple seeds each carry a small amount of cyanide. Eat too much at once and you won't have time to complain about it.

Approximately 1/2 cup of apple seeds is enough to do you in if my memory serves correctly.

It sounds as if your friend needs to do some serious liver
cleanses. There are many types out there, so have him research to
see which one would suit him best. There are over night
flushes/cleanses to week long cleanses. The milk thistle is a
very good liver herb, which not only helps clean the liver but
helps rebuild liver cells, but it is not enough on it's own. That's why I suggest some liver cleanses. But he really needs to see some nutritionist or someone like that
to help explain cleansing to him, and what to take with it. The
colon should be cleaned first because if you take a liver cleanse
without a clean colon, then the toxins from the liver that the
cleanses get out, just get dumped back into the body if the colon
is not excreting every day, at least twice a day.
On the other hand, the over night liver flushes usually include
enough Epsom salts to 'force' the colon to dump, which in turn
takes out the toxins. That's why he should talk to someone who
knows, unless he can do a lot of research for himself.
The ALA is an acid and if not taken with food can cause heartburn. The CS can be taken any time. Apricot pits, when they were
recommended for cancer years ago, were to be taken throughout the
day. You want to keep the b17 in the body, so a pit every hour or
    every couple hours is best.
Selenium should be taken with food. There's a special type of
selenium that is better than 'plain' selenium, though I can't
think of the name of it right now. Again, Google is your friend.
Sorry, have no idea what zopiclone is. Your friend really needs to go to a nutritionist or other type of
alternative health professional because a regular doctor is not
going to recommend what is actually needed to help clean and
rebuild the liver. They don't believe in liver cleanses, which is
a shame, because the liver is the one organ that is perfect at
rebuilding itself quickly, so long as it has help.
