Sorry I haven't gotten back to you all. Busy time of year. Ok, from the standpoint of TCM, "Traditional Chinese Medicine," these headaches are caused by liver yang, possibly turning to fire and rising to the head. This can be due to stress, or emotions, stuff like that. The two main patterns are liver yin deficiency not restraining yang, causing yang to rise and liver yang excess. When you feel the headache coming on, eat or drink something cold. My dad used to go get a milk shake, which worked great. Although in TCM, ice cream is about the worst thing you can eat, because it's phlegmy, cold and sugary. LOL. But it worked for him. He had a liver deficiency pattern. Anyway, AVOID hot, spicy greasy foods. That will exacerbate the yang. Avoid alcohol too. For the liver yin deficiency, try liver and kidney. Raspberry tea is good. Walnuts, raspberries, blackberries, black beans, black rice, black sesame, black chicken, royal jelly, shitake, red grapes, organic eggs, sprouts. Just off the top of my head. Liver, kidney. Maybe throw in some beets. There are some great herbal formulas, points and herbal teas too. Another project I'm working on is to use essential oils on various acupuncture points instead of needles. I gave my girlfriend a map of points to use with which essential oils to use on the various points. It's very effective, and it's something she can use on herself. She doesn't need me to come over and take an hour out of her time to treat her.

Well, I don't know how a list about CS would feel about dietary stuff. ;-) I personally don't have migraines, just kept your information for my files. It's always good to have 'personal experience' information, though. I guess it depends on what others on the list say about the food thing. Samala, Renee -------Original Message------- It's a liver yin deficiency with heat rising. There are some great points and herbs for this, but patterns can vary. When you feel one coming on, eat/drink something very cold. I can give dietary pointers, if you'd like. -----
