There is some thinking that asprin may prevent damage to the motor neurons. They explained the mechanism by which this happens, but I don't remember it and I've never seen any further articles on the subject(which surprises me). I was impressed at the time and I know that if I, God forbid, ever came down with ALS or if I meet someone else with it, I'm reaching for asprin!
