I read on the list a long time ago about seeding the distilled  water with 
an ounce or two of CS before brewing.. I have been doing it every  time I 
start a batch. I find it cuts the time of the brew down a lot.  I  get a 
really nice clear brew. I also use the laser to check if there is a nice  red 
line & there always is.....Nice, Nice, & nice,,  :-)   Lois
