With my crude setup, I noticed that
The water heats up.
The inverted cone size diminishes during the run.
But, not particularly that the water evaporates.
My container is covered, and the water level is perhaps 1 to 1 1/2
inches below the cover. I use a 9kv xfmer and run for 2 hrs resulting
in a pale gold product.
I've been considering a 10 meg series resistor (10 watts) for current
limiting and allowing a longer run time but haven't overcome my
natural inertia yet.
