Can anyone recommend a website or publication which would provide high voltage training.
I operate a high voltage apparatus and would like to know more. My scientific studies were generally in the realm of organic chemistry. I did notice an interesting phenomenon. Testing out my laser pointer by aiming it through the reaction vessel in progress, I decided I would have better results by having a reflective background. I took the shiny (unoxidized) side of aluminum foil and wrapped it around the glass vessel, careful to keep it out of contact with the electrodes. In spite of these precautions I experienced a definite electrical shock while in contact with the foil wrapped around the glass. The foil was not in contact with anything other than glass. (I was hoping to see a reflection of the laser illuminate the silver in solution). I am using a 15kv HVAC CS unit I purchased (not from CSPro... they would not send it C.O.D.)
