Ivan and All; I have just finished the second run of CS using the parameters from Ivan.
I must report that Constant Current CS has the same problems the constant voltage (batteries) ALL of the low voltage CS process have a water quality problem. The first run o 200 ml of Absopure DW which has an Rb of 145 k ohms (on cc probe) (6.9 mS) came to .6 ma. current limit immediately and stayed there. The Rb0 (at end of run) was 33 kohms and the ppm was 19.5. the next day RBI was 37 k ohms. The second run was with Wal-Mart DW with an Rb0 469 kohms (2.1 mS). The current started out at .1 ma and built to .6 Time unknown, had to leave the run on a timer. The Rb0 was 47 kohms and the ppm was 10.0. So what ever system you choose to use you MUST seed the DW with CS to get the same starting current for each brew. If you donut do this you will wander in never-never land. I find it incongruous that I have seen nothing on this list discussing the problem. It is not mentioned somewhere in the literature??? The high voltage people know their problem, but the low voltage people apparently have not addressed it. Build the one cubic probe. It will solve a lot of your problems.
