Yes, several people I work with got together and bought a bag of XPC.
We split it up, each getting about a pound for $10. Several people
really like it and are still taking it regularly. One person had a
flair-up of gout-like symptoms and decided it was from the XPC Yeast
product... so he stopped taking it. He took some prednisone for the
inflammation and is now over it. Was it from the XPC? Who knows?
Maybe he is allergic to yeast. I imagine it is similar to taking a
baker's yeast product, but with high selenium content. Maybe he has
some auto-immune problem and the XPC revved up his immune system too
high.

It didn't really set well with me, but I found that I had a very
inflamed alimentary system due to a low level allergy to shellfish and
glucosamine (also beer...;-((, so I attribute any problems I had to
that. I intend to try it again when everything has been calmed down
for a long time. I didn't care much for the taste as it had a long
staying power, so I might try filling up some gelatin capsules with
it. Also, I think the amount that Dr. Williams recommended may be
overkill, I don't think you need more that about 1/4 teaspoon or one
OO capsule a day. I doubt that the factory workers in the original
study were ingesting more than that...
