PT, this is something you can control on your end. Most email clients have options where you can indicate if you want receipts for things like this. You obviously didn't set it up this way, it appears to be the default. If you want to turn this off you'll need to look into your email client's options.
I looked in the header of your last email and saw the following, which I think is telling recipients of your email to sent receipts: Disposition-Notification-To: "needling around" <[email protected]> *Mike D*, I don't suppose the email list program can strip out headers like this?
