Fungus under the toenails ("onychomycosis") is a difficult problem to
treat. Even "conventional" anti-fungal drug treatment takes months to
work, and (for safety) monthly liver function tests are necessary. SSKI
and DMSO rubbed on, around, and under the affected toenails doesn't work
any faster, but it's just as effective, and definitely safer. Make sure
to wear old socks, because SSKI and other forms of iodine leave an
orange-brown stain. (Other safe and effective alternatives include
geranium oil, oregano oil, and tea tree oil. These and other anti-fungal
oils also require "help" from DMSO to penetrate the toenail and soak the
fungus underneath.)

The only thing I have found to stop the fungi in toenails is Iodines
Tincture Colorless. I got mine (Preferred Plus Pharmacy) from
amazon.com. You can also use the colored Iodine Tincture but then you
get yellow toes.

I had an infection under the fingernail, and had to be treated at the
Emergency Room. But it didn't go away completely until my local
pharmacist suggested tincture of iodine topically. It worked for my
thumb, but of course everyone's body is different.

Really Steve? Can you point me in the direction of those testimonials?
Will Google do it?

There are a number of testimonials online for using iodine with DMSO to
successfully cure nail fungus with the nail present.
