You can use it full strength, or dilute it with distilled water or CS, 70%
DMSO and 30% other liquid. But the ankle area usually isn't a sensitive
skin area, so straight DMSO could be used. It's just that for some people,
their skin is sensitive and since DMSO is very drying for the skin,
sensitive skin gets red or itchy. If you put it on straight and feel
dryness, then you can rub on something natural, like aloe vera, or coconut
oil.

Just rub it on the damaged area. Don't cover it, just rub it in. It will
help with the pain and should also start a healing process. She may want to
rub it in several times a day at first--and in this case putting some aloe
or oil on after will help the dryness.

Just tell them to make sure that they don't use any lotions with chemicals
in it, or wear dark socks after, because DMSO will take 'things' down into
the blood stream. So if you were to put a chemical filled lotion on after,
the DMSO will carry the chemicals into the blood faster than if the skin
just absorbed it. For the dark socks, I've heard that DMSO has pulled dye
out of the socks, so that the skin turned dark.

If the person premixes the DMSO with the CS or distilled water, tell them to
expect the liquid to get very warm--almost hot. There is a chemical
reaction between DMSO and water, and as the DMSO absorbs the water, it heats
up. This is natural and nothing to worry about. After it cools back down,
you can use it.

I managed to get hold of some DMSO, but not really certain how one would use
it for this? Directions would be appreciated!
