For a long time you couldn't access the NOAH weather website to get the weather or navigation charts, etc., for free, but had to go out and buy them from those privileged to have access, even though we had already paid through taxes for all the information there. Fortunately that seems to have changed.
The I-phone and several others now have gps applications you can run that show you where you are, even with maps, just like the gps's in your car. Things are changing. Lets say that I am lost on the lake and my son is looking for me and has his GPS on the boat on, or I found a great campground and want to tell everyone where it is. Well the phone knows, but there is no way to get it to give me the information. If I call Verizon they tell me the only people who can read the gps is if I call 911. If I call 911 and ask them my co-ordinates they say they cannot give me the information on where I am. I pay for the ability, but it is disabled to where I cannot use it. It's crazy.
