Do I understand you correctly? You run your system with cones? I have a HVAC system. I do not allow it to cone. I add 2 ounces of 10ppm starter per gallon and do not let it get close enough to cone... rather i keep the electrode about 1/8 to 1/4 inch above the water. this keeps a small arc present. a cone reaches above the water surface and prevents the arc.
am i misunderstanding what you are speaking of? or are you referring only to starting the process in regards to the various heights of your electrode placement depending upon the water used?
