I have just listened to a lecture by David Winston on Insulin Resistance.
It is a fascinating lecture and any who are interested in the topic might
want to take a look at www.herbalist-alchemist.com. Check around until you
find the lecture page.
For you men on the list who are starting to see a rising PSA level you might
want to check out the lecture on men's health issues. A friend of mine is
having this problem and I have listened to the lecture in response to his
request for assistance (this is not my area of expertise). They have a
formula that will supposedly will drop PSA levels that are just starting to
rise. No experience with it yet so I cannot tell you how it works but
anyone who starts it must understand they are on it for the rest of their
life since aging plays a major role in this issue.

I consider cholesterol paramedics of our system. Getting rid of them is
NOT
the answer. There is a problem in the system and it is the problem that
needs to be fixed not our bodies attempt to heal the problem.
Most often it is high insulin levels that damage the walls of arteries and
then the cholesterol tries to patch it up.
So lowering carbs especially high glycemic index ones lessens the damage
done to the walls so less cholesterol is formed by the liver (eating
cholesterols is not the reason our cholesterol in the circulation system
is
high, but the amount of sugar/white flower etc that is eaten).
I consider Statin type drugs terrible as they not only cause the problems
stated in the link but also increases the odds of a heart attack.
