Hi Debbie,

If he is open to self help techniques here are some things that may help.

Self

Tell himself he is safe now. Over and over , tell himself :  " I am safe now,
He
is safe now,

"FriendName" is safe now" As if he, his family, and the rest of the Universe is
saying He is

safe now.

Do grounding, by lying on the bare ground, or beach sand or lawn. As long a
time
as he can

afford. Do it a few times until he feels something profound has happened. He
could do a re-
run of the 'strikes'  while being supported by earth or he could just follow
what is in his mind

or just look what is in front to him, sky or bugs and grass. don't forget to
breathe. Feel the

support of earth

Straighten out and balance his autonomic nervous system ( fight and flight etc
)
any way he

can. Easy and usually effective is to put a hand at top of spine and other hand
at bottom of

spine. Be quiet, breathe and sense what each hand feel like and what body feels
like; sense

what is going on. Wait for some sort of an experience, like warmth, pulsing,
tingling, ... yada

yada. which is an indication of relaxation and togetherness.

Other

Get a back massage. Have the masseur work right next to the spine a lot and
then
just away

from spine, on the "strap muscles" I used to do 24 spine and then 24 straps
then
back to

spine etc. for 1/2 or more. One session may do it but usually more than one
will
get a

relaxation from a big fright like that.

If he could get someone to just hear his story without interjecting ; Just
listen. Let him tell the

story over and over again until the charge dissappears.

OK,
Tony
