A few suggestions or comments... Have you ever seen those ultrasonic humidifiers that generate a fine cool mist of water fed from their plastic tank? They're not that expensive and I see them in the small appliance section of all the stores.
They work by piezoelectric elements that vibrate at ultrasonic frequencies, causing the water to literally vaporize without heat, and mist to bubble up and out of the water, which is then driven out of the nozzle by a small blower. A typical nebulizer is a small unit that has a well for the liquid, a piezo element that vaporizes it, and some sort of breathing tube and valving to let you pull the mist into your lungs as you breath. You could *probably* try using a humidifier if you left the tank off and just filled the small well near the element with CS and breathed the vapor as it was blown out. Just be sure the well is *very* clean. ( I haven't tried yet, so it's just an idea.) Brooks Bradley's scheme for using an inexpensive artists' airbrush as an atomizer is another good idea. Another suggestion, re: nose spray bottles. I've noticed that the silver falls out and darkens the inside of the bottle after a while. You might consider putting in only a little at a time and refreshing it daily, at least. There's no point in spritzing water that *used* to have silver it into your nose! <grin> Lastly, there is another kind of "nebulizer" I've seen, and infact used as part of an atomizer for making some kind of samples back at the labs where I used to work. It's a blown glass gizmo that you put a bit of liquid in, put your mouth on the output tube, and breathe in while squeezing a rubber bulb below, which causes water to be sucked up and sprayed against the inside of the vessel, making a mist for you to breathe. I don't know how well it would work, but I think I've seen them for $30 (US) or so in some better equipped pharmacies. Probably available without prescription, as I think I saw it hanging on a rack. Hope something there helps! Be well, Mike D.
