Hi Gayla, Another thought; Bordeaux mixture is sprayed on plants to stop fungi. It's made from copper sulfate and hydrated lime. Could be the sulfur part is significant in combating Valley fever fungus. Sulfur is used as a powder or by heat as fumes in greenhouses for the same effect, and it works.
