The email that was a response to was one where the climate was the
desert with a burning 105 degree temperature. I never made any
suggestion as to what to do in a cold climate.

I love nearly everything you say, but really..........at 15 below,
with windchill in the minus 30s and the ground frozen? COLD water? And
how do I get from the house through snow and ice on the deck and patio
to the ground? I don't think that is going to happen........Can you
imagine? taking towels, etc, taking off snow boots, getting feet wet,
trying to dry them before frostbite, and they would not get very dry,
putting socks and boots back on damp feet? No thanks, LOL. And you
literally couldn't walk on bare icy/snowy frozen concrete and porch
boards without damp feet freezing to them I don't think.............
You must not have much in the way of real winter where you live???
