Dear Katarina& list, Besides topical escharotics ( which work effectively, depending somewhat on how big an area, and where on the body ( you wouldn't want to use them anywhere near a mucous membrane); there are other natural but slower alternatives. The colloidal silver water is very helpful but dries out rather quickly and then the gauze or pad has to be soaked off. I have found even better success with a combination of colloidal silver ( the stronger the better) and then spread some cayenne-slippery elm mixture on top of it. Dr. Schulze, master herbalist says that is one of the best cayenne poultices; just mix them 1/2 and 1/2. Of course that can be used by itself too. And believe it or not, the cayenne does not sting in an open wound. But it does stop bleeding and increases the circulation thus promotes healing. And the mixture as a poultice ( or plaster) stays moist a lot longer. My long-standing skin cancer above my eye used to be raised and pearly looking and it has progressively got smaller and dried up until it is just a flat red circle smaller than a dime and just below the hairline. I am very pleased with its effectiveness ( I saturate the gauze piece with CS then spread the poultice on top of it, apply, cover with a piece of plastic then a band-aid or bandage to hold the moisture in and the gauze on;or tie a cotton scarf on it for an overnight poultice. I have also used aloe gel on the back side of the gauze to keep it moist. As far as the escharotics, there are quite a number of choices. Here are some websites to check out: www.healthfree.com ( for Dr. Schulze's materials); www.hacres.com for the Hallelujah diet ( an alkaline diet will help the body heal itself- fasting and lots of juicing will change the body chemistry so the problem doesn't reoccur.) Herb Veil 8 is available from Healing Leaves ministry in Rice, Wa. Rob McClintock there is very knowledgeable about herbs & treatments. His phone no. is (509) 738-2177. or e-mail him at [email protected] or read about herb veil 8 at the following websites: http://www.viable-herbal.com/prod04a.htm or www.alternative-medicines.com/ The other educational and extensive site for escharotics is www.cancersalves.com/ besides the Cansema site someone else mentioned. There are also several good herbs you can use as poultices.. Hope this is helpful. God bless. Cora P.S. I'll be out of pocket for awhile but will answer any questions soon as I get back.
