At some point, someone on this list
mentioned that your skin is a source of
salt. when you touch the electrodes or
the inside of your batch jar, you may
well be introducing salt into the 
process. As you know from the CS
literature in print and on the web,
it's generally not recommended to
add salt. I think this is because it
forms silver chloride, but someone
who is more chemically minded than
me can explain it better. All I know is
that I  can definitely tell the difference
when I touch things before the
CS process. I try not to any more!
