I don't know any more than that about it.  Probably salt in oil, causing 
increased conductivity  along the lines of the print.   Maybe making some 
AgCl along the way.  I doubt if it is a significant effect on the overall 
process, but not knowing, I want to eliminate the possibility.

Hi James, forgive my ignorance but does this mean that getting body oils on
the electrodes will prevent the cs from forming? I didn't realize that it
was important not to get fingerprints on the electrodes. Could you explain
