My chiropractor, who is one of 3,000 board certified internal medicine specialists
in the US, and very highly regarded, recommends CS neti pot sinus lavage.

I just had him do a balloon sinuplasty on my sinuses and he said to
neti right away and every morning for at least a few days or any time I am having
sinus issues.

The balloon sinuplasty was the best thing I have ever done for my sinuses and seasonal allergies. He said the constant congestion pushes the turbinate bones in the nose closer together closing off the opening for sinus passages to drain through. A small cuff with an inflatable balloon is inserted into each of the three turbinate areas in the nostrils. The cuff is inflated and takes about 3 seconds to pop open the closed turbinates.

It felt so amazing
to have them pop open during the procedure I will never forget that feeling. Kind of like your ears popping really hard. I was extremely congested from mold exposure in a flooded and poorly remediated house, which I vacated asap when the landlord would not remediate, but I had daily morning sinus headaches for that last month I was there. That is when I did the sinuplasty. It stopped the daily headaches even though I was still congested from
the mold, because my sinuses could drain.

He said it is a procedure that most people only need max twice a year. No anesthesia although some practitioners do use locals or even a general. I think originally the procedure was done with a wire and started in the 30's. Then was modified to a much safer technique and renamed Balloon Sinuplasty. It is like Balloon Angioplasty which is used to open up heart veins.

So yeah to the CS neti pot sinus lavage.

I do not use Xylitol. My dog is not worth the risk. Too many other ways to deal with bacteria and dryness than to keep a lethal substance anywhere around a susceptible individual.
