Gunpowder today is what is called smokeless powder. It is not the same
thing as was used back then. That stuff is now called black powder. Of
course you can always make you own, I made it many a time when I was a
child.

paul's great grandfather used to make a really powerful black salve
that was made out of gunpowder... i still have a bit of it here...
wish i had the recipe it is AWESOME stuff!
