Hi Dorothy, To go along with what Marshall said. Applying CS helps a lot, a lot but the 'final' blow was application of the actual silver maker electrodes to the corner of my lips where the herpes was hiding for years. It would flare up with stress, like too hot, too cold, too umm stressed.
A few times with one electrode in the lip corner and the other 'trode in wetted fingers for a minute; then swap for the other minute. current limited to 1mA. OK, the herpes did come back after about 5 years but due to a doozy of stress raiser. It hasn't been present lately and I've had a lot of nasty stressors. The silver has difficulty getting through fats , oils and mucous. Any of that will protect the nasties. OK, Tony M .
