DMSO definitely penetrates skin, including the ear drum, and
will carry many different kinds of molecules across, with
it. Of course, this can make it very dangerous, because
there are a lot of kinds of molecules you don't want
penetrating your skin. So you have to be very careful of
cleanliness when using DMSO.
I bought some at a veterinary supply.
