I had a beekeeper do some tests to see if it would control mites this summer. Theory was that the mites require bacteria in their digestive system to digest the blood, so CS should make them starve. Unfortunately the bees also required bacteria in their digestive tract to digest, and we starved almost the whole hive before ceasing treatment. A smaller dosage may have worked, but the beekeeper is not willing to try again.
