Whether white or black, the coating on the electrodes
is either pure silver or pure silver oxide.
In either case, those materials are compatible
with making silver water.
If you want to reduce the amount of particles
that fall to the bottom of the solution,
just wipe the electrodes with a damp paper towel,
to remove anything that might fall off.
If you filter your silver water to remove particles,
there is really no need to clean the electrodes.
