Hi PT, I backed off after paroxysms of coughing, then just gently inhaling at a distance from the mouthpiece, rather than sucking in. I'd do just enough to feel it moisten my lips, and tongue and then slowly breathe in but not to the point of cough reflex. After a little while, i could inhale more and more. i noticed this with our dog, too. At first he'd jerk his head away, but if it just fell gently around him and i breathed it in too (so he'd smell my breath with it), he'd relax and after a while tolerate more direct vapors. You have to respect what the body is telling you, but gently sneak up on it when you can.
