I'm relieved you are hitting this with both silver and antibiotic. My husband had a tiny pimple on his knee years ago after crawling in s fire in turn out gear. A red stripe started up his leg and reached his groin in just a few hrs. It was staph but not MRSA. He didn't want to go to the ER on the weekend, but when I told him he could lose his manhood if he waited til Mon, he reconsidered. They actually hospitalized him and he had 2 days of IV antibiotics. It's very helpful to elevate your leg MOST OF THE DAY! This allows your body to carry the infection out of the limb. Good luck. T
