Zinc deficiency causes an impaired immune system, also common knowledge among "health nuts" starting in the 70's. Zinc deficiency is caused by the consumption of refined sugar. Is it not interesting that health awareness way back when was dismissed as "nutty" and odd, when my father was teaching me all of this stuff. And now that we have a generation or two of people raised on mass produced packaged food, we need to get back to basics to get our health back, and it does not seem so nutty after all, but the common knowledge of 20 plus years ago is being used by big companies to try to make a buck. It is easy to see if you have a zinc deficiency. If you use your finger nail to write on your arm (not too much pressure) and the word can be read after you release pressure, you need to change you eating habits. Sunflower seeds have a lot of zinc but do not eat the salted ones, as the salt impairs absorption of calcium. All the CS in the world will not help you if you are sick because you do not have enough nutrients to mend your body. Kris
