Some digestive enzyme products have hydrochloric acid in them, often under
the name of betaine hydrochloride, and some do not. I used to take the ones
with the betaine in them but then realized that although the strength of
the enzymes were okay, the strength of the betaine was not. So now I take a
stand alone enzyme product and take my betaine separately in the strength
that is right for me. Just realize that enzymes are enzymes and acid is
acid. They may or may not be together in the same preparation.
