Susan, Find a dentist who knows how to remove amalgams without poisoning you. Your dentist is a moron (forgive the redundancy).
The procedure is properly done with a rubber dam clamped around the tooth which catches all debris. Constant suction is used to remove the debris and prevent mercury fumes from being inhaled.
