The very best thing I have found, and I swear by it, is to walk for an hour a day at a moderate pace (about 3.5 to 4 miles per hour.) This seems to stimulate the endorphins and it seems to balance and harmonize things. Walking cures depression due to the stimulation of endorphins and probably things that have yet to be discovered. It is sometimes hard to fit the time in, but after seeing and feeling the benefits, I think it is worth every minute. It is a great anxiety reducer and also helps with insomnia. Hot flashes might be lessened as well, and it seems that I have read something to that effect somewhere.
