Terry, We had one other incident a year or so back where a list member reacted very quickly and strongly to her first dose of home-made CS. She had all the classic symptoms of allergic reaction -- rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, low blood pressure (dizziness and tunnel vision), etc... Scared the heck out of her. She had taken only a couple of tablespoonfuls. What was really wierd, though, was that she had previously been taking a commercial CS preparation without difficulties. Unfortunately, she didn't have any of the other stuff left, so we couldn't get it analysed. Thus it was impossible to know what really happened. Her doctor told her she was allergic to the silver. Needless to say, she stopped taking it. She was quite disappointed. I generally suggest a small initial dose to test for any sort of adverse reaction before ramping up to effective amounts. What you're describing sounds like a toxic or allergic reaction, rather than a herx. Proceed with caution.
