Hi Marshall,
Placebo effect is just what it says it is. Nothing else.
Your wife's throwing up is due to a psychological reaction to suggestion.
This is a psychological effect, since the food was not bad it could not be a
physical (chemical) effect. Often a doctor will give an ill person a sugar pill
and tell them it will cure them,(a person the doc can find nothing wrong with).
If
they get well in was a mental thing and not a physical thing. They then get
referred to a shrink.
I have a friend who has everything a person can have, if she sees it or reads it
she will have it the next day. Likes to go around telling everyone about her
latest medical problem.
Seems your wife is very susceptible to suggestion. Is she also good at
divining
and ESP, intuition, and cognition. These things go hand in hand, get the good
with
the bad they say. I think she is a "sensitive".
Tell her to take CS on a regular basis and she "cannot" get sick from bad food.
I
and the kids always spray CS on any food we suspect is not in prime condition or
over age. :-) And always take CS before eating out.
