Me either but let's give him the benefit of the doubt before criticizing too much. He did list the parts but not the values. As I said, he could have a very high impedance to the line. Still not good because you could get full voltage and a sharp tingle but not a lethal jolt. And some folks might think the shock was their end and perhaps have a heart attack. Who knows?

I've had several people call me and tell me I could save a lot of money on our generators by eliminating the power transformer and using capacitance coupling or even resistance limiting on the 120 VAC input. Of course I told all of them that I wasn't about to leave myself open to a lawsuit that could conceivably send me to the poor house. Life is too short to take those kinds of chances.

I just can't see saving a few bucks for a step-down wall xfmr, and exposing oneself
to hazardous operations.

Those who make HVAC 12,000 volts should know what they are doing, but the LVDC
seems so simple and innocuous that the uninformed people get careless, and that is
when trouble sets in.
