Thanks Roger, I am well aware of the dangers of high voltage, a shot of that
stuff can make your whole family feel it. I need to get some idea of how to
utilise this power in order to make CS. Distance of electodes apart,

Jim: I have a 30 ma ~10,000 VAC power supply and my #22 wire electrodes are
about 10" apart.

submerge one, or both?

Jim: one (single #18 wire in the water, the other #22 multiwire above (~1/2"
out)

Do I try and draw an arc, use CO2 or any other gas?

Jim: I draw an arc in air.

I have never been down this road before so am at a total loss for ideas. I
have 2mm dia silver rods, Probably about #14-#16. Should I go for HVAC
instead?

Jim: Let me say this: I have NO experience with HVDC, so hopefully someone
else can give you reliable info. If I were you, I would ask about the
differences between HVAC and HVDC with regard to safety before I did anything
else. Sorry I can't be more help with respect to HVDC.

As far as HVAC goes, it's really quite easy to use, and the CS product is
consistently much more stable than anything I have ever been able to produce
using LVDC, even with the help of some of the experienced LVDC investigators
on this list. But that's just MY experience. I'm sure if I put my mind to it
I could probably make an acceptable LVDC CS product. As things stand now, I'm
quite happy with my HVAC CS brew. Roger
