Dear Maureen,
We have used, successfully, a mixture of CS diluted
20% (by volume) with DMSO---as an experimental protocol for treating the
ears of pets/farm animals....for a number of years. Several of our
experimental volunteers have utilized this---quite effectively---for various
insults of the inner ear.
The most frequent method reported, by human
experimenters, was the application of 1 to 1.5 cc of solution applied via
dropper/syringe....into the ear----with the head tilted to provide upward
exposure of the affected ear. There will be---in almost all cases---a
slight popping/release sensation, as the liquid drops through the orificial
restriction into the mid-ear section. This is a natural occurrence.
Most experimenters maintained the "retaining geometry" of the head position
for 1 to 2 minutes and then reversed the "tilt position" of the head to
facilitate draining of the CS solution. (No adverse effects were reported
from individuals who did not perform the draining measure).
Exceptional results have been reported in a variety of cases
involving "infection-type" insults. A significant number reported gaining
favorable resolution of VERY persistant infections.....of long standing.
                            Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.
p.s. Some of the older volunteers experienced
minor...rapid-onset....disequilibrium
sensations for a few moments---while holding their head in the tilted
position, during the retention stage of the protocol.. This appears to be
normal---albeit unsettling to some---resulting from these individual's
slower adjustment to this kinesthetic challenge. A majority of the older
experimenters executed this protocol---most often---just before retiring to
bed. By doing so this enabled them to place a small cotton ball or gauze
pad under the affected ear and lay on their side to facilitate complete
drainage of the residual CS over the next 10 to 15 minutes.
A simple test to determine if the experimenter has an ear
infection is; using an eye-dropper, apply 4 or 5 drops of 3.5% H202 to the
"tilted" ear and wait 15 to 30 seconds. If any aerobic organisms are
present a bubbling sensatiion will manifest (you can actually hear/feel the
reaction). If no infection is present---no reaction...whatsoever....will
occur. Most low-grade ear infections DO NOT present in a detectable manner
to the affected individual. Our entire staff has used this simple technique
for several years. Knowledge gained from this simple test has been
invaluable toward prompting prophylactic measures designed to prevent flu
pathogens---and kin---from presenting in a form challenging to their health.
