DMSO has a strong affinity for water and heat is generated when it comes in
contact with it. It is also very drying. This is why you want to use NOT 99% or
90% but DO use 70% diluted DMSO. Otherwise some discomfort or drying of skin
will result. This is not a big deal, but for chronic users, it could turn them
off.
In my experience, if pain relief is not noted within 5 minutes, it's not gonna
work in this instance. It's that fast.

I get fast relief with MSM internally when I use about 10 GRAMS in water. I take
it with 1 or 2 grams of vitamin C powder to kill the bitter taste.
MSM is a good addition to a person's supplement regimin anyway. Dosage, of
course, is individual and needs to be determined, with 1 to 3 grams common.
YMMV!
Fresh aloe leaf split and topically applied is another thought.

Edgar Cayce's castor oil on flannel applied to the area, covered with saran
wrap, and a heating pad is yet another healing tried and true.

There is chinese ointments such as Tiger Balm that was a standby in my Kung-fu
days but really, the DMSO was better. Most health food stores carry this.

Oh, lets see, homeopathic Arnica is another that works well. Little sugar pills
that dissolve under the tongue.
Also available as an ointment.

Glucosomine and chondroytin is in the right direction, but I would expect
sometimes weeks to see results. Again a good addition to his supplements.

                                                        Chuck

I've read so much about the dangers of sex, smoking, and drinking that
I've given up reading!
