I try to heat my distilled water before making CS -- not to sterilize it, but because the heating makes it easier for the silver to precipitate out of the silver wire. I heat the water in a pyrex measuring 1/2 gallon glass container, and place it in a pan of water. This gives it a double-boiler effect and I can heat the water without having it touch metal. By the way, I don't bring it to a boil; heating it to just before boiling is quite sufficient. Nina -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver.
