Hi all, In the recent thread of H. Clark info, I thought I would pass this on. I hope not to ruffle too many feathers as the post that was written to me is rather negative concerning HC. I know how level headed and open to different opinions you all are, so I thought I might share this person experience.
Recently on one of my cat health lists I posted about the worming information for cats/dogs from H. Clarks book. I use this program on my cats and was remarking how it did not make them vomit or go off their food like some pharm. worm meds. A fellow posted back a one line post of "I used this on my cat and it went blind within a week". I found his statement just a little unjustified. I wrote back asking was the cat in good health otherwise, was it on other meds., was the program followed as more is not better and herbs can be dangerous, etc. I also stated that all herbs or meds be researched thoroughly and don't follow anything in blind faith. What works for one person may not work for another or in my instance.... another cat. (All of my cats are still alive and not blind after ingesting these herbs/tinctures.) He ended up writing to me personally, apologized to me thinking he made me feel attacked. I told him I appreciated his concern but did not feel threatened and then he shared with me his opinion/story below. I did ask his permission to print this and said I was on a few lists where HC name comes up occasionally. He wanted everyone to know his experiences with H. Clark. He is having a problem personally which he believes is caused by a parasite thats why he sought out H. C. program. This gentleman even has a web site that shows pictures of many types of worms in animals so that those who wish to identify worms through a microscope can compare with his pictures. He is a student of parasitology> I thanked him for being open and sharing his opinion. His permission: <<Yes, you may use the whole thing if you would like, as people should be more educated about the Clark program.>> His post: <<As far as the core point of what Dr. Clark is all about, that is whole other thing. I am always on the quest for ideas, and alternative treatments that work, but have come to realize through the years that the things which really work, or are of general value are far and few between. Dr. Clark helps people by belief that it will work, like a lot of other things, and if that is enough then a good thing has happened. Here is a note that I wrote to a friend a couple of months back. Being a student of parasitology myself, and my friend also is one, she got quite a chuckle out of this message: Have you ever heard of Dr. Hulda Clark? If you haven't, you probably would have, if I would not have told you about it first. I have personal experience with this woman, and have even been down to Mexico to see her. I have spent over a month there, checking out the health scene, and in particular Dr. Clark. I have concluded that dr. Clark is nothing more than a fraud and a huckster, but her theories continue to dupe many here in the US. She writes in her books that all cancer, and most diseases are caused by a single parasite. - the "common" liver fluke of humans Fasciolopsis buskii This parasite she claims is transmitted to cats via snails, and to humans via cats. Georgiis, and every other parasitology reference book I have says this is a parasite which infects man and pigs in ASIA only, and is not found in the USA! Here is more from a quackwatchers website. I can verify that the prices listed for services are true, and this is not a complete list! Hulda Regehr Clark, 70, claims to cure cancer, AIDS, and many other serious diseases. She describes herself as an "independent research scientist" with bachelor and master's degrees from the University of Saskatchewan and a Ph.D. degree in physiology from the University of Minnesota (1958). She also lists a naturopathic (N.D.) degree, but the source is not identified [1]. Her treatment is available at Century Nutrition, a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico, where the basic fee for two weeks of "treatment" is $4,500 (plus 10% tax). This figure does not include the cost of a motel room (approximately $210/week); meals ($250/week); blood tests ($70 each); standard diagnostic imaging tests ($40 to $400); dental x-rays (at least $206); "individually tailored" supplements ($400 to $1,500 for a month supply); equipment (about $350); tooth extractions ($80 each); and partial or full dentures ($450). Bizarre Claims: Clark claims that all cancers and many other diseases are caused by "parasites, toxins, and pollutants" and can be cured by killing the parasites and ridding the body of environmental chemicals. Her book The Cure for All Cancers states: > All cancers are alike. They are all caused by a parasite. A single parasite! > It is the human intestinal fluke. And if you kill this parasite, the cancer > stops immediately. The tissue becomes normal again. In order to get cancer, > you must have this parasite. . . . > This parasite typically lives in the intestine where it might do little > harm, causing only colitis, Crohn's disease or irritable bowel syndrome, or > perhaps nothing at all. But if it invades a different organ, like the > uterus, kidneys or liver, it does a great deal of harm. If it establishes > itself in the liver, it causes cancer! It only establishes itself in the > liver of some people. These people have propyl alcohol in their body. All > cancer patients (100%) have both propyl alcohol and the intestinal fluke in > their livers. The solvent propyl alcohol is responsible for letting the > fluke establish itself in the liver. In order to get cancer, you must have > both Clark further alleges: The adult fluke -- which she misspells as Faciolopsis buskii -- "stays stuck to our intestine, (or liver, causing cancer, or uterus, causing endometriosis, or thymus, causing AIDS, or kidney, causing Hodgkin's disease)." [1:4] Or the pancreas, causing diabetes; the brain, causing Alzheimer's disease; the prostate (causing prostatitis; or the skin if you have Kaposi's sarcoma [1:35]. As soon as there are adults in the liver. . . . a growth factor, called ortho-phospho-tyrosine appears. Growth factors make cells divide. Now YOUR cells will begin to divide too! Now you have cancer. . . . Having propyl alcohol in your body allows the fluke to develop outside of the intestine [1:8]. When the fluke and all its stages have been killed, the ortho-phospho-tyrosine is gone! Your cancer is gone [1:9]. Clearly, you must do 3 things: (1) Kill the parasite and all its stages; (2) stop letting propyl alcohol into your body; and (3) flush out the metals and common toxins from your body so you can get well [1:10]. It is not unusual for someone to have a dozen (or more) of the parasites I have samples of. You can assume that you, too, have a dozen different parasites [1:10]. Three herbs, used together, can rid you of over 100 types of parasites: black walnut hulls, wormwood, and common cloves [1:11-12]. But the amino acids ornithine and arginine improve this recipe [1:15]. Use of these five products will kill the cancer-causing fluke in the first five days and the remaining parasites in another two weeks [1:19]. It takes 5 days to be cured of cancer regardless of the type you have. Surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy can be canceled because, after Clark's recipe cures the cancer, it cannot come back [1:introductory passage]. All metal (fillings, crowns, bridges, etc.) should be removed from the mouth, and all teeth with root canals should be extracted, because their presence damages the immune system [1:46-48]. To prevent recurrence, stay on a maintenance program of killing parasites and give yourself a high-dose program at least twice a year. Also treat all family members and household pets [1:23-26]. All of the above notions are absurd. In a recent talk that attacked widespread misbeliefs about parasites, the president of the American Society of Parasitologists noted that if Clark's pseudoscientific claims were correct, "the medical establishment and . . . professional pathologists are guilty of a gigantic and cruel fraud on the public." [2]>> His next post: <<One thing I would like to be made clear though, I mentioned it before. There are many helpful suggestions, recipes, and formulations that are good. I even used her lye soap recipe to make our own soap, it works good except that the lye will irritate sensitive areas. Her herbal anti-parasite formula probably does work, but the zapper idea is at the best questionable IMO. I have built these zappers, and bought two top quality signal generators like what she uses in Mexico to treat her victims. I am sure that this idea is a modern take off on Royal Rife's work, but of course is different, using different frequencies, signal levels and polarities. I would like to see a documented case that proves the Clark zapper is useful for anything except as a toy. I also mentioned this before, that if the belief alone in what she is doing helps someone, then it is a good thing. I am of the opinion that many if not most alternative therapies, and even some conventional therapies work because of the person's faith in them to work. Dr. Clark is no exception, and if you have seen what I saw there, you would agree with me that the clinic is full of her victims absolutely believing they are getting better or better yet cured. The whole supporting staff continually feed positive thought reinforcement to everything that goes on, so these very sick people are in full faith and belief that they are in the right place doing the right thing. The only thing I really have against Dr. Clark is the scam going on in Mexico, and the core premise behind everything that has made her famous and what keeps her in business and that is the Faciolopsis buskii theory. But like I mentioned above, a certain amount of people will be helped anyway, regardless of her scam, and I am sure that is enough to clear her conscious.>> Had he been healed by HC I'm sure his opinion would have been a little different. He is still searching for a cure of his ailment. I would be happy to pass on any of your opinions/info or ask this fellow permission to give out his email addy. He seems very open to many areas but HC has left a bad taste. Thanks Terri L.
