A simple test to check if your zapper works. I placed an angle worm in a plastic container filled with my well water. Put the probes in the water and turned the zapper on. After 7 minutes the worm was still alive. I sprinkled some table salt in the water and tried again. Within 3 minutes it was dead.
My well is 375 feet deep and contains very few minerals. I sometimes use it for Cs used to spray some of my Christmas trees. I lost two trees out of about 2,000 I sprayed last summer. These were grand fir with a rust problem very much like the rust that cottonwood trees get. I recently attended a state class required for a pesticide license. At the class the instructor said Cherry trees get a fungus that causes them to bleed their sap and it forms gum balls. I believe that was the fungus my tree had where my Cs spray did wonders. The leaves doubled their size and the tree doubled its height after Cs spraying. All stone fruits get this same fungus. He said that once it has the fungus, there is no cure. Thanks for the info. Alex. Hope to see Dr Medina and Dr Anaya in Los Algodones after tree sales are finished and share some of your sunshine.
