Radio Shack sells a *small* DC motor for 2 bucks. It's rated for 1.5-5 VDC, so you can run it off a single battery & suspend it over the top of the glass of disilled water. For a stirrer, I want something I can attach to the tiny shaft w/ crazy glue. Plastic may not stick; I have some oak... --Russ
