Several years ago a very prosperous man from my home town (my brother worked for him) got cancer before age 60. He went to the Phillipines for psychic healing, did the routine, paid a lot of money and was dead in six months. Evidently he believed in it enough to go and pay for it, but his "belief" did not effect a cure. If the placebo effects really works it should have worked for him even if the "healer" was a fake and used chicken guts to put on a show. If the healer was not a fake and psychic healing is authentic, then it seems the man would have been healed. Conclusion: there are many varieties of "faith healing" and they are unreliable at best. When they fail, the patient is blamed because he "didn't have enough faith." (I speak as a devout Christian who doesn't fall for every false teaching that comes down the pike.) How is psychic healing different from Benny Hinn and R. L. Shambach of the TBN insanity? What was it P. T. Barnum said?
