Judith, Ask any vet if they will sell you a few ozs of Albon.  I am
currently treating some Maltese pups who probably have cocci, and have done
so for almost 20 years.  It works like a charm, no idea if organic but it
will knock out cocci in 2-3 days.  I give it for 5 days which is the
standard treatment period.  Approx. 1/4 cc for  1/2 to l lb pups.
My vet book says that antibiotics are useful but response is slow if
symptoms are apparent., which would tell you that CS may eventually take
care of the problem.
I would suggest that you give them albon to remove the symptoms then keep
them on CS to prevent reinfection, which is  extremely likely in the
environment that they live in.
