Hi Marshalee, Stuart, and group! I figgered I'd answer this publicly so everybody would gain a little insight into these things... When the list server tries to send you a message (or digest), if for some reason the message cannot go through, a system somewhere along the path will usually send a note back saying it is undeliverable. The list server is programmed to automatically unsubscribe any e-mail address that suffers several of these "bounces" in too short a time. Checking the archive of bounce messages from the silver list and digest, your addresses and a whole slew of @home users and others have been generating sporadic bounces, particularly on the 9th and 14th. Evidently it was just enough to tip some of you into nowheresville... <sigh> You probably missed some messages in there even before you were unsubscribed. It was probably a transient outage that affected eskimo's ability to reach portions of the net universe. As I saw a sudden drop in subscribers about then, I suspect a number of you went away at the same time. A lot of @home addresses showed up, plus a smattering of others. The solution is to re-subscribe when it happens, download your e-mail often enough to make sure it doesn't overflow your mailbox, pay your bill on time, and pray that your ISP, eskimo.com, and/or the net in general will not have any (further) problems! If it becomes a serious enough problem there are some steps I can take to improve matters, but I will have to handle it on a case by case basis.
