That story about your dog climbing the tree was hysterical! It'll be interesting to see if the kernels pass the cat test...Thanks for sharing it-LOL!!!

You're right on the money Mike! The only thing better would be to grow your own trees, and go that route. Personally, I'm lucky enough to be in Scottsdale Arizona, where the climate allows me to grow apricot trees. I have 7 of them growing now, and 2 of them are producing fruit.

One thing I find totally amazing is that our dog, a Siberian husky (I know, a husky living in the desert just doesn't sound right), will actually pick the apricots off the tree (it's so funny to watch her do it, she almost literally climbs the tree, she's such a clown), eats as much fruit as she needs in order to get to the kernels shell, then she cracks the shell and eats the kernel. She weighs about 60 pounds (I think, never actually put her on a scale), and goes through 2 or 3 kernels a day minimum. I'm told by many that dogs and cats will take what they need for proper nourishment, when given the right things in their environment. How this relates to us mere humans, I'm not quite sure, but I'm double my dogs weight, so I eat twice as many kernels as she does :)

I know, I know, only two messages to the list so far and both of them off topic, please forgive.

Yours in health,
James Allison

So is it possible to go to the grocery store or fruit market and buy a
bunch of apricots? Make preserves out of the meat and crack open the
  kernals?

  Indeed, welcome back James.

  Be well,
