I would recommend getting a digi-key catalog
in my current one LM317T IS 1.05 .77 .56 depending on whether you buy 1 25 or 100
part # is LM317T-ND it's on page 235
http://www.digi-key.com
1-800-344-4539
their prices are a lot better then radio shack

Thanks for the come back folks..
Ole Bob... Yep I have some more questions...lots more, but just a couple
now.[and thanks for everyone's help,I'm going to build one of these
suckers.and know what I've built, one way or another]
What is the answer to the question I ask .,"Can I use a transformer
that has a secondary voltage of 40 VAC....AC is the question,or does it
have to have a secondary DCV? And does Constant Voltage mean that you
are using a high amp source[big MA transformer] that won't draw down the
voltage under lower amp loads than what it is rated for? Is it that
simple? I think I understand the current limiting idea... keep the
current constant regardless of the conductivity of the solution, for the
reasons that have been stated.
Also Bob..... How did you determine that the' best' CS solution,[what
ever the hell that may be] obtained with stirring' is in your 500
studies. Did you try different paddles etc., did you measure
volume, velocity etc.and then the results in the PPM,particle
size,ionic/nonionic etc. that resulted from different stirring methods.
And what was the differences between to fast to slow... just curious.
I just got back from RadioS..t ! Talk about being grumpy... I must be!
I found the .99 motor and when I ask what pot. I should use to slow it
down,he looked at me like I was some sort of idiot, and said, "I have no
idea." I replied "I thought you worked here"... needless to say the
dialog deeriorated from that point on,and I feel lucky I didn't punch
the smart ass little twit in the mouth ....I'm glad I don't do that any
more, even though I still create the situations. Must be a hormone
thing,or I need to get a life...Anyway I came out of the store with a
18,000 rpm-9 t0 18 DCV motor, and a 500VDC Linear-taper pot.??? Hey what
do I know. ... As far as the LM317T semiconductor for current control
,he said their book didn't show such a # ....guess he won......at least
until I find out the pot I picked out doesn't work and I go back and
shove it up his BUMM....Perhaps I need a nap...... but Enough about me.
