Josephine, As far as I know, CS should be somewhat colorless--although other people on the list may differ about this. I don't feel that I know enough to give you a definitive answer. However, from my limited knowledge, clear brown doesn't sound promising for CS. Of the CS that does have a slight color, the most variation I remember hearing about is a pale yellow color. But brown may indicate that the product has degraded, or is not pure silver colloid. I CAN tell you that the CS I make myself is clear. The longest I have ever had to test it for shelf life is about 6 months, because I usually consume it fairly quickly after I make it. However, others on the list say that it lasts and lasts for years because it's stable. Again, instability could account for a discoloration. > Can I give this 250 ppm dose to my 35 lb dog? Is so , how many drops? There are also opinions on this list that anything above 8 or 12 or 15 PPM is superfluous--again, people have had different experiences. A 250 PPM product kind of raises red flags with me, not because it's necessarily intrinsically unsafe, but because I wonder if in order to create such a high PPM fluid the company has added stabilizers or preservatives. The only way you'd know for sure is to get the CS analyzed by someone equipped to do it. Assuming that the CS you have is okay, the dose depends on what you are using it for. For maintenance, I drink maybe 2 ounces a day (if I remember). However, for a whopping infection, I have drunk 8, sometimes 16 ounces, spread throughout the day. If I feel an infection coming on, I gulp it down at once and the infection is substantially curtailed. IF your silver is properly made and free of contaminants, IF your dog is very ill, you might start with 1 to 3 ounces per day and work your way up to more. See if your dog feels better immediately, or has any reactions of detox. If the dog seems to feel better, the CS is doing its job and I see no reason to increase the dose. If the dog exhibits detox reactions, it may be inferred that the silver is doing its job and killing some microbes in the animal's system, but the dog may need time to get rid of the waste material before drinking more CS again. I hope this at least gives you a good start. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND making your own CS. It's very inexpensive and you know what you're getting. Sunstone Herbals (formerly Allison's Apothecary) makes a CS Generator for $40. It may not be the best, but it's inexpensive, probably will work well for your purposes, and at least you'll know that you're producing CS without preservatives, stabilizers, or other unknown stuff in it.
